Passcreator has native support for utm Tracking parameters that are very common with Analytics tools like Google or Adobe Analytics.

This feature allows you to attach your utm parameters to Passcreator pass download URLs. It will automatically recognize these parameters allowing you to see where your downloads were coming from.

This is how it works:

1. Attach utm parameters to download URLs as GET parameters.
A standard download page URL looks like this: [https://app.passcreator.com/p/1234567](https://app.passcreator.com/p/1234567)
You can now attach your tracking parameters like this: https://app.passcreator.com/p/1234567?utm_campaign=fall2023&utm_source=googleads
2. As soon as a user accesses the URL for the first time, Passcreator recognizes the utm parameters and saves them as additional property values.
If no additonal property on a template level exists, Passcreator will create it automatically.
3. You can then use the segmentation in Passcreator to analyze the success of your campaigns, e.g. measuring the best distribution channels for your passes.

### Things to note

- Only the first download of a pass will be taken into account. E.g. if the first dowload hat utm_source=googleads defined, this is what Passcreator will show on your pass.
If another user downloads the same pass with another value, googleads will be kept, showing the initial utm value.
Because of this it’s important that you create individual passes and not distribute the same pass for every click on an ad. One way of doing this are [integration links.](https://passcreator.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/23363699)
- Additional properties that are created automatically have the “hidden” flag set to avoid that they are showing up as fields on landing pages.
- You can delete the additional properties that contain your tracking values like any other property. If you do this, the tracking data will be lost.
