After creating a pass in Google Wallet, you can’t change the type of the pass. This is a difference compared to Apple Wallet. It means that if you select to create a boarding pass, all passes based on that template, will have to use the boarding pass layout, even if you change the layout to e.g. store card in the Passcreator editor - passes on other Wallet apps will change, though.

It also means that if the template you initially selected (e.g. a boarding pass), requires certain mandatory fields, they will still be requested, even if the layout you’ve changed to, would not require these fields.
